I am so in awed as to how this piece is coming along.  Too bad I am not a painter do I would be painting some awesome scenes on canvas, but cross stitching is the next best thing.  I love taking a piece of blank fabric and watching it come alive with a picture.  I guess that is how a painter feels when painting on canvas, eventually the picture will come to life.

This piece is called Fight for Freedom.

Queen of the Cats

I want to share a picture of my immediate family that includes my parents and son (Walt, Tim and Alice).

My current stitching project is called "Queen of the Cats." This is the beginning and I will post another midway picture and the final picture will be framed. I was hoping to enter this piece in the NC State Fair 2011, but I have to submit the entry form on September 23rd and still have two weeks to have this piece completed and framed.

So why stress, when I can just enter "Remember to say I Love You", which is the picture displayed below. This piece speaks volumes and is all about family. Family is the heart of any home, but it is a "true" woman that holds the foundation together. As the old saying goes...."behind every successful man is a good woman." If you get a chance to visit the NC State Fair 2011, please stop by the Education Building and take a look at all the crafts, cakes, canned goods and, of course, my cross stitch.

Summer almost gone......

Summer is almost gone and right around the corner is fall, which will bring the NC State Fair. I am working diligently on a piece called "Queen of the Cats." I will post a picture next week to show the beginning, then another picture a week later showing mid-way, and then the final picture.

The picture displayed was stitched and framed by me. This piece is called "Remember to say I Love You."

Isn't it gorgeous? If you are attending the NC State Fair, Raleigh North Carolina you will find this piece inside the Education Building.

Disney's McQueen

I stitched this piece for CSFC (Cross Stitch for Charity) Group. At first I wasn't feeling the colors, but afterwards I could see how the colors and the stitches were coming together. If you don't know this is Disney's McQueen from "Cars" animated movie. This piece along with other Disney's cross stitches will be used for Cole's quilt. Once I receive a picture of the quilt, I will post to my blog.

Mom and Me

It has been a while since I posted to this blog. I have been very busy with cross stitching, traveling, and having fun with family and friends. This is a picture of my gorgeous mom, Alice, and myself. This picture was taken on Carnival Destiny. We flew into Fort Launderdale, Florida on November 1st and stayed at this little inn. We boarded the boat on November 2nd and set sail for 6 days 5 nights. We traveled to Grand Cayman Island and Ocho Rios Jamaica. Had a ball. I will be posting more pictures and lots of crafts very soon.
